Elizabeth Woolridge Grant was born in Manhattan on June 21st 1986 to Robert and Patricia Grant. She was raised in Lake Placid and has a sister Carloline 'Chuck' Grant and a brother Charlie Grant. At age 14 she was sent to Kent Boarding School in Connecticut due to being an alcoholic. In 2005, she used the stage name May Jailer and created an album called 'Sirens' to hand out to people, however it never got any further. From 2005 to 2010 she had released numerous EPs under the names Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena, Sparkle Jump Rope Queen and Lana Del Ray. On January 4th 2010 she released an album called 'Lana Del Ray AKA Lizzy Grant' (which is also known as Nevada) for iTunes release only, however the album was shelved soon after due to having creative differences. In 2010 and 2011 she recorded and wrote numerous unreleased songs. Her big break came in August 2011 when she released 'Video Games' on YouTube, it went viral and she became a sensation. On January 27th 2012, Born To Die was released and it went to number 1 in 10 different countries. Paradise, the follow up of Born To Die was released on November 12th 2012.
